COVID-19 UPDATE

We are excited to share that after a challenging few years, the skies look to be opening up in 2022 and we plan to resume flying Galgos to Canada!

About the Adoption Process

We bring 15-25 galgos to Canada between April and the end of October each year. The vast majority of galgos are adopted before leaving Spain because 112 Carlota Galgos is a small hands-on group able to profile a specific galgo to fit in with your family. Our regular flights are from Malaga direct to Montreal.

The first step in the adoption process is to contact us for an application form, which will help us understand what galgo might be a good match for your family.

Once the completed application form is received, we will contact you by phone and answer any questions that you may have. We will then perform a home visit and bring one of our galgos for you to meet.

If all goes well, you will be matched with a galgo to join your family. You are responsible for meeting your galgo at the airport (in Montreal, usually).

Our adoption area is primarily Ontario, Quebec and all the Maritime Provinces. We are also able to adopt to Alberta, BC and Newfoundland. It is the adopters responsibility, both physically and financially, to meet the dog at the airport.

Flight Patrons

All of our dogs fly accompanied by a flight patron/patrons who donate their time and money to travel to Spain. Many patrons choose to stay at the finca for a working holiday and enjoy the “finca experience”. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a flight patron, please contact us!

Adoption Fees

Our adoption cost is $650.00 which includes the adoption fee we pay to 112 Carlota Galgos, as well as the cost of the flight and customs inspection fees for the galgos to enter Canada.

All dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, dewormed, and have tested negative for Mediterranean diseases (blood work analysis provided). There is no cost for the travel crates as we fly these back and forth between Canada and Spain.

When you adopt from Carlota Galgos Rescue Canada, you become one of the family. We are a true community with the welfare of the galgos always being paramount. We provide 24/7 support to adoptant families, both here in Canada and also in Spain from Charlotte, Dioni and their vet team.

Available for Adoption

We attempt as best we can to keep the list of available dogs current. However, availability can change very quickly as potential adoptees move through the adoption process.

Here are a few of the galgos that are currently adoptable to Canada. Please contact us for more information – as noted above, availability can change daily.
